We walked past this beautiful corner of Vaison-la-Romaine one evening when it was fully booked so asked if we could make a reservation for the next day. The lovely and talented chef/owner was kind enough to open the restaurant for just us and made us...an amazing 3-course meal for 25 euro each (impeccable value). The chef curates a set menu each night so you don’t have to be troubled by rummaging around a menu, his picks are wonderful and it feels like a personalized, home-made experience. Such delicious food with a poetic vista and the kindest host! Definitely recommend!
we were close and wanted to taste this restaurant. we finally got the timing right at our third attempt and it was good-worthy the effort! as the last guests of the day we enjoyed chatting (usually in English) with the friendly all-in-one owner, cook and server. we loved his enthusiasm to share the simple but tasty menu and enjoyed our entree (baked ground meat served in the baked) and dessert from homemade ice cream. a special local experience!
wonderful eating with pride and passion of thierry. its caption caillette is really incredible and it is wonderful to eat a regional speciality here made with a special recipe. a whole man show, it is perfectly managed by thierry, with careful planning of reservations to ensure that everyone gets a great experience. we came here twice in a week and will come back when we come back.
Charming setting, charming owner and super signature dish. The owner/chef/waiter is a one man show the menu is limited for this reason but what is there is delicious. He still finds a way to chat with everyone. We were lucky in off season to be...able to get a small table at the front. We lingered there with our dog. We ate well and had a really nice time.
