and the establishment in which we went several times. So far it was good, and then, for our last visit with friends, it was very average. already the card seems frozen for the year, but the more serious it was not very good. out of simplistic but profitable work, meat pounding (wrinkle) at the hijack of the conversation with the waitress, we learn that the cook was not there. This explains this but it's a task. No luck this Saturday.
We arrived into Montlucon on a Friday night and tried a couple of restaurants but found they were fully booked. La Cantine had a table for us and it didn't disappoint. It was some of the best food we'd had in France for 10 days. The service was very friendly and efficient and to top it off they had great music as well. Don't miss going here if you are ever in Montlucon!
dined at the canteen last night with a straciatella (buffala) with tasteful and copied olive oil, ideally cooked sesame gambas and crunchy green asparagus supremes and an orange fragrant risotto for 35€. Very loud place. The cook refuses any change on the dishes. Would it be warmed plates? Is it for a perfectly balanced chef who should not be altered? We often choose cote de boeuf for two and have to say this was the best we have tasted. So so tender, every piece juicy and full of flavour. Nice bottle chateau neuf du pape on the list which was a good one. Good service as well,
I’ve been here more than a handful of times in the past year. Always almost full at weekdays by local and business people. Why...? I my opinion because they serve high quality at fair pricing in at casual atmosphere.
Saturday evening, lunch with friends with the canteen dishes of good quality entry and grilled meat very good, dessert could be more copied! since it's good, nothing to say, we've had a good night
