four of us had arrived just after a long day on the road to pullman montparnasse and wanted to be a bit casual and close. We have decided to go on a good review by la cantine du troquet and decided to go to check his menu. first we were. a little set out by its lack of prix fixe options, but it is chalkboard list of a la carte entrees and boards offered a great variety of unusual (for us). After we check out a dozen restaurants near us, we landed back in la cantine and could not have been happier. we ordered gaspacho andalous, caviar d’Aubergines, lieu (pollack) sauvage and omglet de beouf. each plate was perfectly prepared, with rich aromen burst, and accompanied with beautiful sides. the o...
in our last night in paris, my sister, note and I decided to recommend our hotel of this restaurant, especially because it was raining and the restaurant is near the hotel. but we were so glad we left. the two people who were probably the owners were super nice and helpful. Although the restaurant is small and all the tables were full, we never felt hurried and eating was fabulous. we had 2 bottles of wine, steaktare (more actually like carpaccio) looked out of celery soup, lambs with frit, sole with garnel, pork fillets with potato bread, tarte Au chocolate and a dessert with egg white and caramel sauce.
only on the day of the heat wave to midday. nice to sit outside in the shadow. good quality eating and weeping. we had the thunfish dish and the chicken followed by cream crawl and cheese with black cries. coffee and much cold water. great service...by friendly young waiter. it was so much that we came back two days later and had the onglet de boeuf and filet de dorade, which was just as delicious as the first visit.
Very friendly service. Was totally packed by 7:45. Had Onglet d’ Boeuf, frites, glass wine, and great desert for 38 €. Meal was good.
