Gorgeous location, good food, clean WC....but unpleasant surprises: Entrecasteaux is a charming town, and we were starved. La Castellane had been recommended to us as the best pizza around. We each (there were 10 of us) ordered our own pizzas. Two of us ordered the Margharita pizzas: tomato sauce, mozzarella, and olives. When they arrived, not one olive. Instead, a light drizzle of pesto. The really unpleasant part was when we asked about olives, and the waitstaff acted as if they were surprised and offended that we expected olives, as described on the menu! The service is excellent, efficient and friendly. Extensive menu offering wide range of options. Portions huge which detracted from dining experience. Food was good, nothing special. The decor is old fashioned and table linen (not linen, some sort of synthetic) makes the place feel cheap. Probably better for lunch.
Vlad his small but welcoming pizzeria are part of the heart of the village and just keep getting better. Both his take-away service and the wonderful pizzas he serves are fantastic. In the summer we usually eat outside but even in deepest winter the cosy interior is great.
One hot summer noon (36) we decided to have a break in Entrecasteaux and easily decided as their menu looked attractive. Friendly service, well proportioned and tasty dishes so we left happy.
