La Cense - Table reservation

We 've been spending a month in Lille and, as usual, had our last Sunday lunch at the best restaurant we could find in our locality. It was a blessed relief to be able to sit outside, away from the heat of the sun and with a gentle breeze keeping us relatively cool. Service was immaculate and the food perfectly cooked (we both ate a lot of fish). It certainly passes our test Would we come again? The only reason knocked off marks was because our waiter brought the wrong wine to our table a half bottle of red cote de rhone rather than the full bottle of white (Croze Hermitage) we 'd ordered. We think he 'd picked up the wrong bottle. An easy mistake to make, but it shouldn 't have happened.

Really interesting building (the best way I can describe it as a converted French Barn)but we found there was definitely a lack of atmosphere which surprised us.Very quiet indeed although plenty of diners.Food very good,service no more than reasonable.

Came here on New Year‘s Day with our family. Had a great four course meal. The cuisine is refined and a good mix between traditional French cooking and light, playful touches reminiscent of the original Nouvelle Cuisine. Small but good wine selection.
