We literally just left this place after a very unfriendly welcome where they dumped us at the leaky (it was a rainy day) back annex simply because we had two 7-year olds and a 2-yr old. This was despite the fact that the place was...half empty. We should have guessed there was something up since it was raining and the quietest place in town! Firstly it took 15-mins for any kind of service, then they refused to take our order unless we ordered one main dish for everyone at the table. So we left. Only to have to go back for our son’s slinky which he left behind. When we returned the grumpy old owner behind the bar started waving his arms like a crazy person to tell us we were not welcome. After we spent a week in hossegor and have experienced a friendly reception wherever we decided to eat. it was a surprise when we were dined in this facility. the chief debtor was the slightly chubby guy with white hair, which I think was the owner. my first question to a bottle of champagne was met with a very shortden non! ok, perhaps unusual, not to have champagne or other foam wines. I then ordered a bottle of bordeaux that was on the wine card, “ we dont have “was the answer. no nice excuses or declarations. eating was good, but the behavior of Maitre’D was completely unacceptable.
The staff is nice and does its best. The food is terrible. No taste, hard to digest. I took the lasagne as they were homemade and recommanded by the staff. It was the worst lasagne I have ever eaten. Dry, no meat nearly, no sauce,...only tons of pasta. When I was asked if it was good I said not really. I was given more meat and tomato sauce which was nice but not tasting any better. Is there really no way to improve the quality???? Scary experience. Saw they were Looking for a new cook. I hope they will find one better!
I don't understand these bad reviews. there must be some that are fake. I have lunch with a friend. both galettes were pretty good. our waitress was friendly and attentive. the service was quite fast, although the place is almost full....We were in and out in an hour.
