Collared a friend for short-notice lunch at Le Crepe Michel in Old Town ABQ. We got there a bit ahead of their 11:30 opening time and had another couple of folks waiting with us. When we entered the space the foyer/front end felt pretty small crowded on fleeting impression. But after winding through what I think was a server 's station into the rear eating room, the claustrophobia abated. The beamed skylight kept the cozy room from feeling closed in and the overall impression was of some elegance, albeit a bit aged or worn. Not so much tired as a well patina-ed slightly rustic character like you might find in older European houses. Table setting was linen appropriate. Price was moderate with...

I got two of the buckwheat crêpes, which were delicious! The chocolate was almost too dark for me, and I love bitter chocolate. The strawberry was very light. I don't like chantilly cream, personally, but even that was nice."

The French restaurant that I use as my measuring stick for all others. This romantic restaurant is perfect for a couple. My wife and I have been coming here for 9 years. We are never disappointed by the tranquility and food. The Breakdown Parking: Street parking. Also near the museum east of old town is more free street parking and a paid lot. No validations. Parking can be tricky when Old Town is at all busy. We lucked out today and got parking right out front. Food: You must get the French onion soup. I have long since stopped trying French onion soup in the United States because this restaurant is just too hard to beat or even come close to). The melted cheese that becomes crispy on the s...
We visited on a busy Tuesday for lunch, but thankfully, we didn’t have to wait for a table, although there were only a few left available—always a good sign! We started our meal with a fantastic bottle of Bordeaux and shared a bowl of French onion soup, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I’m not sure how authentic it was, but it was definitely delicious. For our main courses, we each ordered a crepe—one with beef and one with pork. I have to admit, I can’t pronounce much on the menu, but I tagged the correct names in the photos we took. Both crepes were loaded with meat and incredibly tasty, but I preferred the pork one due to its delightful Dijon flavor. You really can’t go wrong with either cho...
Food Allergy Review: Even though I have been eating here for over 10 years, and have known about my Celiac Disease for 3 years, this was my first time testing my food at La Crepe Michel with my Nima Sensor. I'll admit, I was scared. I wouldn't be able to go on without eating here. The food is THAT good. We did our wedding rehearsal dinner here, we go here for any special occasion, and in general just eat here as much as we can. I tested the buckwheat crepe that I get in place of bread, the french onion soup, and the salmon in champagne sauce. The only thing that tested gluten contaminated was the soup, so I went into the kitchen with Claudie and we figured it out the beef stock!!! This is gr... Book a table now
I joined the ladies for lunch, and I’m glad I did! A quick trip to Old Town for some last-minute shopping allowed my friends to indulge in one of their favorites—crepes. The two younger ones opted for sweet crepes, while my wife chose a savory option. I enjoy crepes as well, but whenever I have the opportunity to order Onion Soup at a genuine French restaurant, I can’t resist. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a poor decision on my part, as the girls were enchanted by their delicious crepes and kept asking for more. I couldn’t help but laugh. Of course, I wasn’t allowed to try any of their crepe creations. The restaurant isn’t very large—located on a side street—but it successfully captur...
On a chilly, rainy day, we sought refuge from the weather in La Crepe Michel for lunch after exploring Old Town. The cozy atmosphere was enhanced by a lovely fireplace and charming, eclectic decor. Although the service was a bit slow due to the lunch crowd, we didn’t mind as we were in no rush. After indulging in spicy Tex-Mex cuisine for several days, I opted for the refreshing salad niçoise, which was a generous serving of crisp greens topped with egg, tuna, optional anchovies, and a tangy mustard dressing – it was exactly what I needed. My partner enjoyed a salmon crepe filled with lox and fruit, and he was thrilled with his choice! I’m looking forward to returning to try their dessert cr...
Great little place in old Town, French food might not be what you first think of when you visit old Town.. But after the first visit here it will be! This little French restaurant give you the whole experience.. Even our waitress spoke beautifully French when he presented the specials. They got a big variety of both savory and sweet crepes , and they are reasonably priced and full of flavor. I'm from Europe and been to France and this restaurant definitely is successful by bringing you a little bit of France to albuquerque. Only minus.. was the bread.. Which was very Very dry Other than than.. A great lunch and dinner spot
This particular occasion was momentous to me because it was my first date back into the real world with my honey after having a baby. La crepe michel did an excellent job of recommending a wine to help this mama relax, enjoy, and feel a little less guilty about leaving the baby with the sitter. The crapes were tasty but I did wonder why we were the only table who didn't get any bread! Book a table now
NOOOOOOO! One of my all time favorite restaurants in Albuquerque! Here 's what is on their web page: We have decided to permanently close La Crepe Michel. I want to thank everyone for making more than 30 years possible. We will miss you all and we have wonderful memories that will last forever Again, thank you Claudie and all the staff at crepe michel
