The photos do not match up to the actual restaurant. We went here July 2024 for a girls night with a reservation at 830. We expected a dimly lit authentic Italian experience. The outside patio was stunning! 5 stars there but the inside was white and pink and bright.. It gave brunch and lunch vibes not dinner vibes what so ever. They had to of recently remodelled and got new owners because there was nothing authentic about this place. The drinks were good. I had a good red wine and the girls had some good mixed drinks. The food was overall MID. The waitress we had was really nice but she seemed fake it till you make it nice. It was our first time there and the menu seemed authentic but we wer...

It was overly salty, even for someone like me who enjoys salt. Valet parking is the only option unless you prefer to park on the street."

For years, I have driven down Woodward Avenue without realizing that a high-end Italian restaurant was tucked away across from Palmer Park, operating since 1995! La Dolce Vita is situated on Woodward Ave, but you'll need to turn onto Cedarhurst Place to access the valet parking lot and entrance. Street parking is also available if you prefer not to utilize the restaurant's $7 valet service. I recently had Sunday brunch at La Dolce Vita with my college professor and a few of her former students. The ambiance exudes a classic Italian restaurant vibe. However, the service was average; the staff seemed brisk on a bustling Sunday. Despite the steep prices, I enjoyed the meal. I opted for the past...
La Dolce Vita has recently been renovated and is back in action, though it never really left. It had been a few years since our last visit to this hidden gem on Woodward Avenue. We came back to see if our beloved restaurant was still as great as we remembered. The service was just as fantastic as we had remembered - Jason, our bartender, and Carlos, our waiter, were both friendly, welcoming, and very skilled at what they do. In fact, the entire staff seemed to be well-trained and added to the already great atmosphere of the newly redecorated restaurant. The food was consistently delicious, with the steak tips in gorgonzola sauce and toast points being a standout dish. We somehow found room f...
I was so happy with this hidden gem. Wow! What a wonderful way to end a amazing night at the North American Auto Show Charity Preview. We came with another couple and I ordered the Lemonchello shaken with ice. You could tell everything here was made with quality and love. The host sat us immediately and the waitress was soon to follow. Appetizers consisted or beef tenderloin tips and calamari. I would highly recommend the calamari. As for the dinners. WOW!!! My Mr got the Veal Parmesan, and I got the fillet minion with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was perfect. The food, the atmosphere, the ambiance. The whole night was just incredible. Do not pass this place up next time you vis... Book a table now
Food is a solid 5 stars. Michelle was our server and very helpful. My cocktail was maybe 2 oz and $12. Peachelini or something close to that...just way overpriced and meh... Bread with olive oil, parmesean cheese and fresh cracked pepper was good. My calamari, awfully chewy. Wouldn't recommend. Great roasted artichokes. I ordered a special with pasta, and shrimp. Very tasty. My guests had a Branzini special and pasta with no meatballs. We thought it was spaghetti on the menu, but it was wider noodles. Oh, and $7 to valet Park when I parked myself because they had a delivery of new equipment? stupid!!!!
My review is based on the combination of accessibility and overall quality of the restaurant. Accessibility is there to getting into the restaurant, however getting to the bathroom would prove a challenge if you were by yourself. There is a steep ramp up to the restrooms and the handicap restroom was currently out of order and the other style was way too tiny for anyone with mobility issues or devices to access. Food delicious we had brunch a couple of the eggs, pennies and their egg platter and everything was quite delicious. The potatoes were especially tasty.
We've been coming here for 20 years and it's still a great place to eat. We've only done brunch but other friends say dinner is great too. Summer time is best when you can sit outside in their beautiful patio. Huge portions so you won't go hungry, good prices, yummy drinks and coffee. They're doing some renovations inside so it'll be nice to see how they make some updates. Valet parking is mandatory so if you don't want that, you need to park in the neighborhood.
Ambiance starts from the outside they have the prettiest courtyard absolutely Instagramable! Lights and statues and dramatic wall. Try to get a table by the window to overlook all that prettiness Service starts from the front door from greetings to attentive service. And, luckily, the food doesn't disappoint either. Can't go wrong with any dish. Absolutely loved chicken marsala and lasagna. Unfortunately this time they ran out of calamari : . Maybe next time! Book a table now
Awful they changed whole charming ambiance old world feel of this genuinely historic place. All gorgeous architectural details vintage woodnow painted completely PINK WHITE (like a gentlemans club vibe or something Apparently there's new owners and while was a favorite of ours before whelp, we probably won't be going back. Food was decent, but it's a new way pricier menu. Will say we did have an excellent Server though!
The experience was just okay, but I wouldn't go back. The calamari was tough to chew and the Alfredo sauce was more like a soup than pasta. It was overly salty, even for someone like me who enjoys salt. Valet parking is the only option unless you prefer to park on the street.
