I went to this restaurant with 9 friends and I must say that only two of us had a meal that was worth the price each one of us paid. Eight of us ate pizza as this is a Italian restaurant and one ate pasta. The dinner begun with the waiter telling us that for the pizzas there was a 20 to 30 minutes wait as there were many requests for pizzas and also asked us if we wanted to change our choice. All professional and good until here. For the reason mentioned, one of my friends asked for pasta to be faster, the result was that he was the last of us eating with some of us finished already. We went there last evening and had a most enjoyable meal. The restaurant is well appointed with good decor. For our taste, we found the restaurant too brightly lit (a common occurrence in Portugal in our expeience) so we asked them to dim the light a little whch they were happy to do. We also asked them to turn down the music and change the genre and we were given a choice of cds which included a nice jazz seection. The wine list was being updated so the selection of Portuguese wines was limited and when we requested a second bottle of our first choice, it was out of stock so we we're provided with a higher priced bottle at the same price which was excellent. This charming restaurant on Rua do Alecrim, in Chiado, was quite exceptional. We almost walked by, as the restaurant was not busy, but I am glad we stayed. The staff were fluent in English and extremely professional and the food!! I have eaten a lot of good Italian food in my travels and the food here was exceptional. Homemade pasta, delicious sauces, extremely fresh and sophisticated food. I had a superb tuna carpaccio followed by wonderful gnocchi a la bolognese. Better than I've had in Italy. Such a nice restaurant! Very friendly staff, fabulous food. When my friends asked for a candle in a dessert for my birthday, they brought out a bottle of sparkling wine on the house too. It's these little touches that really make a place special! Book a table now
Nice decor, very good food and service. Poor wine list but nice drinks prepared at the bar. The show with dancers was unnecessary and had nothing to do with an Italian restaurant.
Delicous Food, frindly service, high quality and adequate pricing. On the other hand the daily picked meals will go for the usual price but include a Drink, dessert and coffe.
