We had been exploring St Florent le viel on a hot day and, with a music festival going on up in the old town, we needed to find lunch during the afternoon. This hostelry presented itself and being right on the bank of the Loire by a small road bridge, it looked just right. we sat inside in a modern dining room and enjoyed the menu du jour. The staff are very friendly and you can also choose to sit on the deck over the road, under an umbrella. This was already full so we didn't have the choice, but no matter. the food was excellent and well presented, not too large a portion and not too hurried. Combined with a very attractive little town to visit, this restaurant/hotel fits the bill very nic...
This restaurant was very near to our B&B so decided to eat here as we had three children in the party and we had just visited in the town and didn't want to climb the hill again. We thought the place and service was very good indeed and the quality of the food was higher than average. We only had one issue and that was the menu was a bit misleading. It said the set menu wasn't available in the evening and as the others looked pricey we asked and were told it was. They should update their menus. No other faults.
Beautiful and relaxed setting for the restaurant overlooking the river. We had a midweek lunch after trying three times for a reservation when the restaurant was fully booked or closed. Friendly staff and food was excellent. Especially enjoyed the choice of starters.
We stayed for a night, business trip, the staff was lovely the same as the food. Great stay. The only negative thing I can mention it is a little of tobacco smell on the rooms but not to badly. Thanks
