beautiful small restaurant, in a medieval environment, but with a modern decor inside. friendly attentive service. the food was very delicious. it is always a good sign if there are only a few things on the menu, as it means in the rule that they are good quality fresh...products, cooked from ground up and in that we were not disappointed. we chose the "assette aveyronnais ': a choice of grilled duck or calfs on this day, set on a bed of light sweet potato pure, with sautées veg (pepper, wobble courgette, carrot, ... a well seasoned salate, some foie gras and toast cherry, and a dish (or more, if you want to share) a delicious local beer. the Café-Gourmand was also very beautiful as a desser...

drawn by the menu outside, we entered the space and booked for the following evening. When was not said we would only get the choice between two main courses. Moreover, these two dishes were obviously prepared in large quantities in advance, so that they could be quickly heated by microwave. so fast served that the plate of my wife obviously did not even see the many as it was served cold and had to be returned to the kitchen. my was slightly warm and offered the pathetic spectacle of some pieces of meat that float in an unidentified liquid (frozen? in society of tasteless vegetables. we barely touched our eating and complained to the lady at the desk, who regretted that we were not satisfie...

Our meal here was so superb that we are still thinking about it, many months later. I had a sublime grilled fish dish, whilst my other half had succulent pork. Every element on our plates was exceptional, from the potato gratin to the tender, mouth-watering...sautèed carrots and creamy purèe. The staff were wonderful, giving us a table quite late in the evening, and recommending exceptional wines. Our dining experience was so memorable that we would return to Rodez just to eat here again.

This nifty cafe behind the Rodez Cathedral presents a limited menu favoring one plate meals, or assiettes which we find to be great for a relatively quick French lunch. The plates all have a combination of vegetables and different or no meats. A good value...as well.

small lively place that we were happy to go into eating was wonderful as well as service right at the point the same as food market at certain days
