La Gazette - Table reservation

22 of us ate here 2 nights ago at 8hours notice and we had a wonderful, relaxed and friendly time. The 39euro menu was delicious and well presented and, although not cheap, it was all delicious. (There were two more expensive ones on offer) we...had An amuse bouche,starter, tarragon sorbet (quite stunning) main course and cheese or sweet. Everything was full of interesting flavours and so well presented and our waitress was a sweet school girl doing a work experience job...so concerned and efficient. We couldn't have had a happier last evening in France. The chef came out to greet us at the end (at our request) and he had worked for a year with Michel Roux in London previously to coming here...

we ordered 2 menus @42€. never seen the muse or the mignardises one of the hors d’oeuvre was not available and was replaced by an item from the 26€ menu. no discount was offered, but since we only ordered 1 coffee, the waiter insisted that he had added a caramel for my wife. the food was in order, but overpriced and served sparingly. desserts both were a good one. in short: never again.

for lunch with the woman, the restaurant was busy, which is always a good sign. we had one of the formulas for 23 euro that was brilliant. service was friendly and professional. that is a really good restaurant. weinkarte is also good.

a new visit to a large group of us proved to be no challenge for la gazette. all courses and the surprise amuse bouches were delicious, well presented and original in taste and look. we all felt that we had happened on a real gemstone.

great restaurant with fabulous diners. each court is a small masterpiece full of color, taste and imagination. a great place to dinner in evreux with beautiful atmosphere and very friendly staff.
