We had been visiting the La Goule after a hiking trip near Le Noirmont. The place looks simple, but don't get fooled by that. It has a lovely terrace which is overlooking the river Doubs. A really nice and peaceful place. The restaurants offers a...variety of local dishes and desserts. We went for a saladier a delicious mixed salad which was served in a wooden bowl. Awesome! The mains were the Filet de Truites du bief d'Etoz. Yummy!! And I had as a dessert a Crème Brûlée with Absinthe. The service was attentive and kind. We have enjoyed the time at the La Goule very much and are looking forward to coming back.
It takes a while to drive to La Goule which is lost deep in the beautiful Doubs valley, but it is worth the detour. The food is very good. The trout capriccio is to die for, the mushroom dish tastes fantastic and the fried trouts are excellent, as are the sauces. Also the desserts are very good.
