"Lovely freshly prepared food cooked to order. Very welcoming and attentive young waitress, nothing was too much trouble despite the fact that we arrived quite late. If we were staying another night we would have to go back again!"

Everything about La Gourmandise is understated yet very classy. We were a quartet of two couples out for a quiet evening of fine dining. The ambience of the dining room is comfortable and intimate. Curiously there isn’t a view of the Harbour or the sea yet we’d walked to it from the car park along the harbour wall.A man in informal garb who I took to be the proprietor welcomed us with a smile and a nod of the head. The waitress was the epitome of professionalism, striking the right balance between informality, efficiency that put us an Irish couple with but a few words of French at ease and welcome. My steak was perfect as was my wife’s monkfish. Our Breton friends, who were well familiar wit...

We were on our way to another part of Saint-Malo and happened on this restaurant. We were greeted by a lovely young woman. She said her English was poor, but we were able to understand each other pretty well. The food was excellent. We both decided on the plat du jour, and the nice thing about this restaurant is they have options to choose from. I chose mussels (entre) and fish (main); my friend had the beef for the main course. Everything was done to perfection. If you are in Saint-Malo, give this restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed.

After a day of milling with other tourists in the walled town we decided to eat away from the crowds. This little restaurant is on an un presupposing stretch of road one street back from the beach and so fitted the bill perfectly. The owner and waitresses were really friendly, and went all out to please. There were one or two hiccups with dishes not being available (we were a party of nine) but they bent over backwards to accommodate and resolve the issues. The food itself was excellent.

Smallish really friendly sea food restaurant. We sat outside with views down to the sea. The young lady who greeted us was very friendly and very helpful. The menu was mainly seafood, not extensive good! and everything was freshly prepared. We had the set evening menu, which we thought for sea food was really good value. There was an a la carte menu too. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can recommend highly La Goumandise
