We visited this restaurant twice so far. A first time was for lunch when we tried the 3 course lunch. It was fine and like all these workers luncheons places, very good value. We then ate at La Himbert in the evening with 3 cyclists friends. The evening menu at €18 is also good value. The portions are generous but the quality of the dishes varies. Having been in France for two and half months, and missing the better aspects of British food such as Fish Chips , my husband and I decided to try it. Unfortunately, it was not freshly battered Fish, more likely a ready made version of this dish and probably frozen... as my husband 's portion and mine were identical, too triangular in shape just li...

We had a party of 8 with two young children. The restaurant staff were very welcoming.....we had booked and had a lovely table with plenty of room. The food was typical French fare, well presented and good value set menus. The young waiter with his pidgeon English and our pidgeon French made ordering good fun and an adventure! Loved some of the dishes, but typical in France, ensure you request steak to be cooked to your liking as the French under cook. Starters and desserts fabulous with good choice of mains too. Would definately go back when next in the area.

We arrived for a return visit to L'Himbert on the 26th February for my birthday and were bitterly disappointed to find that it had in fact CLOSED DOWN just the week before!! We did manage to find another restaurant nearby which had just opened on the 23rd which was OK but it was not in the same class as L'Himbert. We learned from them that L'Himbert had closed, they thought, due to possibly large overheads. Who knows. I just hope that someone can take it on again as it was really special, had great ambience and served great food.

We believe that this restaurant has relocated from Plurien village leaving that place with nowhere to eat. We made a reservation but need not have done so as only one other table was in use. The waiter had a good command of English and was helpful. We enjoyed casselot and merlu. Service was good and food tasty. The premises look to have been recently renovated.
