Dos estrellas por La Lomita Dos. This place is incredibly worn and mediocre. We came with a group of 8 having called ahead a few hours and making a reservation. We were seated promptly for dinner upon arrival and service was professional and attentive. The menu is conventional Mexican-American. We received chips and salsa with free refills. They were on par with El Torito and Chili 's. Not even as good as Chevy 's, On the Border, or Chipotle. Maybe a half-star better than Taco Bell. The burritos, fajitas, and other entrees we had were meh. We also had a pitcher of strawberry margarita; again nothing to write home about. Portion sizes were reasonable, prices were competitive but pricey for th...

This used to be my friend 's favorite place but it has definitely gone downhill over the last 2 years. I gave it 2 stars because of the margarita not watered down and we asked for no ice. However, the salsa was very watered down and the onions seemed sour or off somehow. The nachos were not the best and certainly nowhere near the what they used to be maybe they 're still recovering from the pandemic or have changed chefs? I don 't know but the prices have increased and the food quality has definitely decreased. If you come here, come for the margaritas and skip the food. Oh, and when the bill came it was added up by hand not a cash register which was weird and was wrong. Be sure to double ch...
It can be difficult to find authentic and satisfying Mexican food, but this restaurant exceeded all expectations. Despite my initial reluctance to dine at a Mexican restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and margaritas offered here. The Chimichanga with shredded beef (or possibly chicken) was a standout dish that I would eagerly return for. The service was excellent, and even though our server doubted our ability to finish two margaritas, we proved him wrong by ordering another round. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem, as I have never seen it crowded despite it being the best Mexican restaurant I have ever visited. I highly recommend giving it a try.
I'd call this more of a 3.5 rating. Food was decent and reminded me of some of the Mexican food back in California. I especially liked the salsa and the refried beans. To note, I ordered this for take out and my taquitos were soggy. Will have to try eating in at some point. Sadly, I ordered based on their menu listed online and the bill was much higher than I anticipated. Based on the calculations of the prices listed on their website, my order should have been around $12 but rather it cost me $20. I probably wouldn't have ordered dinner from here if I knew that is what the total would be. Book a table now
This place has tanked since the pandemic. Salsa was watered down and tasted like tomato juice. Steak did not taste right as if they did not marinate it and it had too much garlic salt on it. Prices have increased. Make sure you pay attention to the final bill--addition was off and not correct. They likely do it to all their patrons. That's not okay in my book. Margaritas are still great. Used to be a big fan but will not go back. 3.19.22.
Two stars because the food was edible. But one of the worst delivery food experiences I've ever had (and I've had A LOT). The pics do this justice. When i think fajitas I think the sides with it and there was nothing. The tortillas were soggy, thimble of guac and no sour cream. I ordered a taco and an enchilada (the enchilada wasn't bad but the taco was soggy so I ate it with a fork. So sad. Do not order from here. Just don't.
Having a good rapport with the staff at this hidden gem of a restaurant definitely enhances the dining experience. Despite its unassuming and casual atmosphere, the location in Capitol Hill may be unexpected. I thoroughly enjoyed the salsa, chips, and the pitcher of balanced margaritas. The lomo saltado was outstanding and cooked to a perfect medium-rare as I had requested. The service was also exceptional.
This excellent Mexican restaurant, which is run by a family, is incredibly authentic! The tortilla soup was delicious, and the guacamole dip with the amazing chips was the standout appetizer. The fried flauta was so good, with a perfect combination of crispy and soft textures. The prices were reasonable as well. I will definitely return! Book a table now
The strawberry margarita I got was basic The seafood enchiladas were basic. The nachos were plain but probably the best part Everything was basic!! I'm pretty upset I paid that much for a basic meal
