La Lupita - Table reservation

there are not many vegan options in berwyn, so I was happy when a new place on my happycow app shown not too far from where we live. la lupita is Mexican eating and they seem to make an attempt to branch out to more vegan options than the standard place they have burritos and a fajitas plate, but the burritos are pretty bland and the fajitas, while better than the burritos, were very, very fat. Moreover, the fajitas came with cheese up, even if the menu did not mention it and the server was quite unapoologetic about it, we expect that we pay for it again. Customer service was great. We were running late due to traffic and I was afraid my reservation would get canceled. When I got there looking anxious and out of breath, I was greeted by nothing but smiles. The restaurant looks so colorful, and my drink was so good. They have vegetarian/vegan options which was the main reason I booked here, thank you for that! Parking is hit or miss because it’s street parking, prices are comparable to other places and food portions are big. Overall a really good experience, I will definitely be coming back.

as vegetarian and not vegan, I had no problems with the selection. the salsas came as trio, each tasteful and delicious. are abundant, not too spicy or bland. the service is relaxed, but not too slow or negligible. every Mexican place in chicago is somewhat different, but this is definitely worth a visit.

Food was delicious and the place nicely decorated. Our server forgot about us the whole time so it doesn’t matter how good the food was the lack of service doesn’t give you a desire to return, sadly.
