"What a charming and unique way to experience a meal in Provence. Not exactly a restaurant - more of a home cooked meal experience by a native, in her home. Dinner was delicious as was the wine. Isabel was gracious and made us a wonderful meal. Our tour guide booke this for us - thank you Marlene and 'Experience Provence Tours'!"

The name of the restaurant is to be taken literally. This really IS her Grandmother's house, and an experience you won't get anywhere else in the region: a real home-cooked meal, with flavourful and fresh ingredients, prepared generously and served generously by your host, Isabelle, in an intimate setting under majestic cedar trees, or in her cozy veranda. If you're looking to avoid the orchestration and sterile monotony of "fine" dining, are looking for something different, more authentic, an experience you'll never get back home, look no further. To top it all off, Isabelle is a great gal.A word of warning: there's no choice in the menu, you get what's served for the day, and you need to b...

My husband and I had the 'perfect' lunch at 'La Maison de ma Grand-Mere'. This restaurant, set in the quiet, peaceful garden of Isabelle's grandmother's house, was recommended by our tour guide who had booked it for us prior to our arrival. Take the time to plan ahead and let Isabelle know that you are interested. She will plan the perfect meal for you.Isabelle cooks according to the season so that the food is always fresh and locally sourced. Isabelle was kind enough to talk to us about her family, her grandmother and the history around her restaurant. Isabelle had cooked a wonderful slow cooked rabbit dish and a fig tarte-tatin. The rabbit dish had been cooking for seven hours. Our lunch w...

At this time of year many places to eat in this region are closed, so we were delighted to find this little treasure open all year round. Booking is essential as Isabelle cooks just for the number of people who have reserved. Not your traditional restaurant, it is like a visit to a friends house, but a friend who is an excellent cook! The surroundings are charming and the hostess warm and friendly. A must-do if you want to experience something original, with the emphasis on local products and personal service. We enjoyed the house wine so much that we went to the Cave at Bonnieux the following week to buy some to take home with us.

We had a very nice lunch there today, as it's quite near to our home. We four were the only people there, as it's still quiet at this time of year, and it was very enjoyable. The embiance is very homely and the service, by the owner, friendly and considerate. We ate indoors, but I can imagine that the garden would be a cool and shady place to eat in the summer. It really is good home cooking and we will be going back soon.
