Very politely asked for a table on the canal side during the afternoon. Waiter refused blankly. Asked again if possible for just drinks to be told to sit in the bar area. Sat down and ordered drinks then watched numerous couples families stroll up take a seat on the beautiful canal side and order drinks and tapas ??? Why the rudeness. We're not fluent French but are certainly not ignorant and try our very best to speak the language whilst here. Felt really uncomfortable.
Worst service ever. Staff ignored us actively. The end of the night nicely summarises our experience: we asked for the bill which didn't arrive. After asking again 15 mins later we were rudely told that we need to go inside to pay, in the mean time I observed people paying at the table with other waiters. Plenty of better for options available just next doors.
It does feel a bit like a private club, as the owners seem to know everyone and certainly treat them all as though they were really special. This can make you feel like an outsider, which indeed you are, but it does create a great atmosphere . We ate very well, the fish was impeccably cooked. Would go back.
Less than average service, that remains slow and not professional Food is just ok, without been bad, serve barely warm So many restaurants in the area... recommend to go elsewhere (unless the other places are full)
