I was told by friends they had the best bouillabaisse but it took me 3 years to go there and check out. I also checked prices all over cannes and surrounding and usually a basic bouillabaisse is between 55 and 70 euros per pax. When I pass by in the afternoon and saw they had it for 42 Euros and on the top of it with lobster I decide it was time to go.Restaurant might not be one of the fanciest of the city but the table is beautifully dressed with silverware and white clothe like a michelin star restaurant. From the outside, La Palmea doesn't look like much, but don't let that fool you. This is by far the best restaurant dinner I've had in a long time. The three course €49,50 menu offers very good value.The starter, quale with a side of fruits, provided a hearty start for what was to come. Roasted just right.The main course I went for the Steak Rossini and my wife chose the lobster. Both dishes were wonderfully presented by very attentive waiters and tasted absolutely wonderful and was plentiful.For dessert, go for the triple chokolate cake - you won't regret it.A well deserved five stars for a World class meal.
Everything you'd expect from a French restaurant except a certain je ne sais quoi. All very professional, the food good to very good, the service efficient, the prices acceptable, the situation OK (traffic under the windows, but good views across the port to the hills of the Esterel National Park) but somehow any sense of joy has been subsumed by professional expertise. Go, you won't be disappointed, but you may not remember eating there in three months time.
In the summer the place is very crowded, and never attracted me to stop by. End of October, I has enough time to hang around and decide to visit for a dinner. We were welcomed by a nice lady, very friendly and propose mulitple seating options. Each Friday, they serve Bouillabaisse. This was our choice: very rich, and fresh, lot of fish and half langouste. We have eaten here many times over the years and have never had a bad experience. The food is always good and beautifully presented. The set menus are excellent value. Service is friendly and professional. The location, though just above the road, is not noisy and there is a lovely view of the marina from the tastefully designed dining room. There are many good restaurants in La Napoule but this is one of the best.
We choose the 33 euro menu and champagne and were pleasantly surprised. Started off with carpaccio and gazpacho respectively, both intense but silky smooth. For main we had the dorade cooked to perfection. Desert was a three layer chocolate cake, divine, with the capuccino that we ordered separately. Service kind and attentive. Warmly recommended.
One of the best experinences we have ever had. We have been here twice now and had have the menu at EUR 33 both times. Full value for the money. Extremly nice and plesant service. very tasty food, friendly staff and way to make reservation works (via internet, 20min before going there receving a confirmation). the fish, the dessert were simply succulent !!!
