La Renaissance - Table reservation

This restaurant is off the beaten track in the unassuming Brit Hotel hidden in Fumel. It's worth seeking out for their fabulous lunch. All the clients are French including local workmen, so thats an extra point for starters. Service is a little haphazard propably because of the language barrier. Choose a main course from a limited menu and then attack the salad buffet, there is everything to sample! The main courses are also excellent. In error one of our party didn't get frits as requested and when this was pointed out the chef produced enough excellent frits to feed us all. We returned here for lunch, this time with a Vegan in tow and a young child. The waitress understood the vegan options, although it ended up as salad and chips, and the child's menu was excellent. As usual, the buffet was outstanding. Our main meals were also good, fish and chips! Good value.
