Bad customer service. 1. Looking at the kid's menu to order a juice or Ice cream for the kids but the staff suddenly said "this is kid menu, look at the price!" How rude is this? He treated me like a person who does not even know kid menu or deliberately order kid menu to save money or something. 2. This rudeness happened again at the counter when I pay for the table. The male staff did not say thanks. Only word from his arrogant mouse is "pay pass?" He did not mention how much the table was, instead he just showed me the receipt. I will never be coming back to this cafe. The barista treated us with utter contempt and made us feel incredibly unwelcome. We ordered takeaway coffees and sat down at a table outside to wait so that we wouldn't clog up the area in front of the counter. The restaurant was virtually empty with lots of free tables. Despite this, the barista went out of his way to walk across the entire restaurant and practically yell at us that we weren't allowed to sit down. We celebrated my mother's 80th Birthday at La Repubblica for Sunday Lunch with a family of 20. We were seated upstairs on a long table with a magic view out across the water. I was able to organise the food, drinks and cake with the staff well in advance. On the day the room was prepared beautifully, the food came out on time and was plentiful and delicious. We had organised shared entrees and mains that catered for a variety vegetarian and non-vegetarian needs which really suited this kind of function. Simple quality Italian cafe / restaurant with a great team of dedicated staff. Along with many locals, we are regulars here, coming here for everything from our early morning coffee, brunch and dinner. We even had a 50 person function in the fantastic upstairs private room where the team bent over backwards to meet our requirements.
We are locals and have been here a few times as it's usually less busy than other places on the Esplanade. Saturday lunch I ordered the seafood platter and the fish was off. Told management. They apologised and said thanks for understanding but charged us for the dish anyway.
Great location. However, the service was so slow I was starting to think it wasn't table service, and the wait staff were quite rude once they finally came around. And the coffee was very hot and watery, not what I expected from this kind of cafe.

It was a good woke up with this beautiful coffee and it was impossible to order another one... The waiter and Coffe maker are so nice, friendly and good to look after all customers in busy time

The male barista was extremely rude and insulting. I have never experienced such rude behaviour at a cafe or restaurant before.
The cafe has extremely poor customer service and I would never visit this outlet again.
