We ate at a few of the top rated restaurants in Orange but this one was the most memorable. La Roseliere is tucked away, but easy to find, on one of the small sidestreets in Orange. We were first attracted by the huge amount of colourful annual awards attached to the wall outside. After pressing our noses to the window we could see the eclectic decorating of the room inside and were intrigued by the small but interesting menu available so in we went. Fredi, the lady who cooks and serves has a delightfully, refreshing and friendly approach. Fredi explained everything available from the blackboard she had just written up. My partner and I frequent this quirky little restaurant when ever we are in Orange, we love the atmosphere and the honesty of the food but, most of all the wonderfully crazy lady, that is the cook, barman, bottle washer, you name it. Freddie always provides a warm and exceptionally friendly welcome, yes she is slightly off the wall, as is the decor! This can best be described as busy, there is something to see in every corner and doesn't reflect any style, except her own. La Roselière is a small restaurant with a reduced offer. The lady of the house is doing everything alone she only has some help on very busy moments, wich explains the reduced number of dishes she offers and the patience you need. The food is average and basic, but I must say that our rognons de veau where well prepared and tasty, though on a simple presentation and rather expensive. But the place itself is fun: you need extra eyes to see it all: the decoration is a funny and pleasant mixture of some of everything, her ladyship is a warm and funny woman with lots of stories, singing, joking in a cheerfull way. If you 're in for something unexpected, dont ' hesitate. If you 're looking for fi...

We stopped in this restaurant for lunch. It was really like entering in a “grand mother”’s house and eat there. Very familiar place, GREAT food and the owner was really nice and helpful. Absolutely NOT tourists and DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. Just note that payments is cash only, but in place like that this is acceptable.
