This review relates only to the BBQ by the sea, which is offered on Friday evenings during the summer. The ambience was fantastic, with truly beautiful views. However, the food left much to be desired.The beef carpaccio and smoked salmon appetizers were quite good. The steak entrée was good, but not great. However, the fish came out lukewarm, and was full of bones. At a less high-end restaurant, the food would have been about what I expected. But my fiancée and I were underwhelmed. We visited La Rotonde two times and we were very satisfied in both evenings. First we had very nice dinner in terrace of La Rotonde with beef filet and guineaflowl. Both dishes were very delicious. Service was also very friendly and casual. Unfortunately waiter forgot our dessert order and even more unfortunately was that she tried to explain her mistake with computer error. Very believable! On Friday evening we had booked table for BBQ by the sea -event. Annoying but the evening was so **** windy that they forced to set the event inside. That was so pity. Absolutely loved it, it was like stepping back in time of the années folles. Had a champagne cocktail in the bar outside before hand. Not the cheapest place to go for a pre dinner drink but well worth it. The food itself at La Rotonde was delicious, well presented, and although the service was a little slow and disorganized at times, they more than made up for it by their pleasant and professional attitude. Our sweet was a bit late coming, but they offered us coffee and a cocktail as a way of an apology. Can't ask for any more than that when a mistake is acknowledged and rectified straight away. Went here for dinner with a friend whilst staying in Nice. We sat outside to savour the view which overlooks the Promenade des Anglais and beyond. We started off with cocktails. These were followed by Onglet (Steak) and Magret de Canard (Duck). Both dishes were absolutely delicious and could not be faulted. A perfectly chilled Rose went down very well too. I managed to squeeze in the Strawberry Pavlova for dessert which was to die for!Attentive service and a stunning location made for a wonderful evening. I would have no hesitation in returning here again in the future.

This is kind of place you will never forget. It's a story of lost fame and glory and becoming a massive tourist attraction place. I believe it used to be a beautiful, elegant place decades ago, now just waitresses in white gloves and interior remind you on days passed by. Tourists in shorts and flip-flops as visitors, burgers and fish-n-chips on menu. An upper level expensive fast-food bistro. Far away from cozy and relaxing wine and dine experience.. maybe just for lunch, because interior is one of a kind and worth to visit.
We had lunch on the Promenade of this restaurant, the décor is great as well as the service and food, the staff were very helpful. The lunch menu has plenty of choices and the quality of the food good. It is right on the beach front and has a fantastic outlook worth a visit on a beautiful day. We would recommend this restaurant.
We absolutely loved visiting La Rotonde at the Negresco Hotel. Such an interesting place to explore and the food was on point. We sat outside on the terrace and it was perfect. I had some kind of fish which was very good and a passionfruit mille feuille which I am still dreaming about. Highly recommend!
We couldn't get a table at the Michelin restaurant so we decided for la rotonde. I think is was for the good! Very nice food and wine in a setting where telling and listening to stories is just right.

We had a early dinner here and the food was fantastic. The staff is so friendly, accommodating and efficient that it was such a joy to eat here. If we are in Nice again we will definitely be back.
Went at the Friday BBQ by the sea on La Rotonde terrace. Had a hanger steak and it was just perfection. Thanks to the Chef and all the staff. Great service, great food!
