Close to the town center but away from the hustle and bustle, in a tiny inner courtyard, we were courteously met by the friendly staff. Service was very good and attentive, the food delicious and the wine a red from the nearby La Clape hills) was equally fine and on proper temperature. Magret de Canard and a divine Pavé de Boeuf were on the day's menu and were fully appreciated by my wife and myself resp. and both dishes can be highly recommended ... This bistrot has not seen the last of us !
Top tip: in French towns and cities it always pays to check off the beaten track for little restaurants which are usually family owned/run and of a high standard. La Salle Verte is no exception and is a hidden gem. We had a super dinner here with a warm welcome, great service and food and wine of a very high quality. Would go back any time. Highly recommended.
We sat in the courtyard in a beautiful peaceful spot on a warm sunny day , shaded by a lovely olive tree. The food was well presented, tasty and very good value and the house wines were excellent. Service was very good. This is a hidden gem just behind the main canal side restaurants and well worth a visit.
