The service was great and the atmosphere is what you’d expect in an old Italian restaurant. I got Ziti and meatballs. The meatballs were good and the ziti was good (but for $22 I expected a bit more ziti). The one thing that makes it all come together is the sauce. This is where it’s lacking. To me a good sauce is thick and hearty, a nice shade of tomato red. Something you could pick up with some bread if you wanted to. The sauce I got was watery, a diluted red and there wasn’t much of it. More soupy than a sauce. Any store bought Ragu or Bertolli would be better than this. We ordered mussels, veal roberto, and chicken. The mussels sauce was delicious, that was one of the best sauce for mussels I’ve had. However, the mussels aren’t fresh. The meat tasted old and frozen for weeks. The veals and shrimp with a side of linguine was not bad. Good portion. Restaurant is cash only, they have an ATM inside.
Love this restaurant, I only eat here on a rare occasion due to the proximity. My wife and I have enjoyed coming to La Scala's for the past 15 years. A friend recommended that we eat here and we will try to make it a destination if we are close by. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
What a beautiful gem of a restaurant! Very cozy atmosphere with options of different rooms for larger parties! Food was delicious from the appetizer right down to the homemade dessert (bread pudding)! Server was friendly, too. A must try if you’re an Italian food lover! Book a table now
