We have just been on a weeks trip to the Languedoc with myself the other half and two boys aged 11 and 13. I am leaving a number of reviews of where we ate and stayed and hope you find them useful. Villeneuvette is worth seeing anyway as it is a pedestrianised artisan village and we enjoyed walking around soaking up the atmosphere and looking at the shops/art exhibitions before lunch. The restaurant is part of a hotel (we did not stay so cannot comment on the rooms) which is traditional with a contemporary feel. We visited Villeneuvette, a very pretty little collection of houses, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. We thought we had fallen foul of French lunchtime trap everywhere including the restaurant in the square was closed. So, we decided nothing for it, we will have to eat in the adjacent hotel restaurant... but what a find. The tables on the terrace which was covered with umbrellas and awnings overlooked the hotel pool and gardens. The place was full of local people (well French) who looked like regulars. The 3 course meal was very good, beautifully presented and served well. It was a delightful way to spend a relaxed lunchtime on a hot, sunny day. Well worth a visit.
Went there as a party of six on a sunny Sunday, after a walk in the surrounding hills to build up our appetite. Some made better choices than others but the menu was imaginative and mainly locally sourced. I would hapily return. Service was friendly and efficient. Villeneuvette is worth a visit in its own right.
Went there with the family on Sunday. Very nice place, service was fast, although the restorant was almost full, and very courteous The food was very good both in taste and presentation. All in all we had a great time.
