Was in Royan just for the day and came across this place by chance. The place very busy with locals having lunch, we were greeted by a wonderful lady who seated us straight away. All the staff said hello and I replied in my best...pigeon french which I think they appreciated rather than me expecting them to speak English. Menus and orders were taken quickly efficiently and above all with a friendly smile. The table next to us smiled and were friendly to us. The lady in charge spoke with them about her holidays and even included us in the conversation making a great joke about not going to England as there's too much rain! we went with the niece of my wife and her husband in this restaurant. we have ordered ourselves at the daily specials. fish on a bed of potatoes in a sauce or lasagna and an salad. my wife and I had the fish. it was delicious. our niece and. they had the lasagne. on the four tellers there was no drop of food when we finished the main course. we ordered dessert. they had a piece of sugar. the men had a cream with raisons, apples in a sauce with calvados. to say that it is tasty is a rough understatement. we enjoyed the interaction with the personal very much.
Nice wee bar just off the main beach road and in the town. at the edge of a nice little square, Cheery waitresses an fantastic brandy champagne cocktails and glass of champagne. Lovely breakfast for eight euros. we go there when in Royan and it...is popular with locals.
we came early to lunch, which had been lucky because it quickly filled with local office workers. it was easy to see why eating was excellent, much choice and beautiful presented. good value for money. a happy fund.
