We rushed to the museum to arrive in time for lunch...due to the reviews we read on Trip advisor several months earlier...upon arrival we discovered that the restaurant was under a new management and name!! Currently Le Table de Cesar.... We were promptly seated, and then had an extensive wait to place our order while those around us who had arrived after us, were given a carafe of water and several harried waiters took their orders!! are we invisible?? We had visited the archaeological site and the museum and were in no rush to leave, so stopped at La Table de Cesar for lunch, which is conveniently located next to the museum. We were here mid April and it was extremely busy, however we were fortunate enough to snag a seat outside, with a great view overlooking the Rhône River across to Vienne, with the mediaeval castle atop a hill. A bit surprised by the bad reviews as the food we had was fine, granted they were salads, so they can’t be messed up too badly. The food wasn’t mind blowing, it was just average. J'était déjà venu il y a 1 mois dans ce restaurant j'avait très bien manger même si j'avait trouver que mon tartare avait trop de ketchup à mon goût ce qui le rendait sucré. Du coup cette fois je retente un tartare qui cette fois était assaisonné à la perfection. Je n'ai rien à dire sur la nourriture mais par contre le service n'est toujours pas au point. Comme la première fois il manquait l'eau et le pain sur la table. Ils sont quand même aimables et souriants mais je pense qu'ils ont besoin d'un petit briefing. We selected this restaurant as a stopover travelling from Provence to Burgundy. Not very busy but plenty of customers. Only two serving staff evident but invited to select our own table from those available. Lunch menu seemed popular and looked good value with main and dessert with coffee. Their steak and chips was very much to our taste. Well seared and good and red inside. Some 'well cooked ' steak eaters would consider they had left it too tender. Le cadre est bien,propre ,on peut mange en terrasse ou a l intérieur. Pour le service,que des jeunes très souriants et sympathiques,avec des erreurs de plats pour les tables.(mais c est aussi le métier qui rentre). Pour la cuisine,c est bon,mais ,j avais pris un onglet,et il n était pas très tendre.Ma femme un tartare de saumon,manquant de sel.Par contre ,nous avons été très bien reçu,ce qui n est pas négligeable Franck.
Ce n'est pas qu'un canelet. C'est tout d'abord votre manque de professionnalisme, d'avoir pris les gens de haut et j'en passe. Mais après avoir échanger avec certaines personnes c'est visiblement assez fréquent. Il faut penser à changer de métier car il y a une nette dégradation depuis le changement de propriétaire. Avant la salle était pleine maintenant ce n'est plus le cas. Bref! Continuez sur votre lancée!
Après la visite du musée, nous n'avons cherché un restaurant très longtemps. Une belle terrasse, de bons conseils sur la région, et une salade lyonnaise copieuse et très bonne même s'il y avait beaucoup de salade verte. Les conseils sur le vin étaient très bons.Nous avons passé un bon moment.
à 84 ans, mamy a été enchanté du cadre et de la gentillesse du personnel et du patron de ce restaurant. Sans parler des plats copieux et très bon. Je recommande ce restaurant qui surplombe le Rhône par sa grande terrasse.

Service is excellent, the welcome too. The menu is varied with pizzas, fish, meat and salads. Right next to the museum with views of the Rhone and the town of Vienne opposite. The food is 21st century correct.
This restaurant is aback to the famous Gallo-Roman Museum, so you can enjoy lunch right after or before your visit. The food is French cuisine served in a friendly manner and service is efficient.
