Sept 2022, my review will not make or break this establishment, it is only my opinion out of the 5 Star Reviews. We sat outside with family for lunch. The staff were great even though the server never brought the salt and pepper to our table afterI asked him to. I ordered the Street Corn that tasted great, however when it arrived at the table it was only a half of awhole corn cob for the price $3.50 I could have purchased two full ears of corn at Whole Foods. Honestly, the menu did notstate a half of a portion. Then I ordered one soft Taco with Grilled Hanger Steak. The Taco had plenty of meat on it, howeverwhen it got to the table it wasn?t hot, and overcooked in my opinion. Honestly, I am...

This spot deserves more than five stars. Delicious food and excellent margaritas! I am originally from NorCal, and have been hunting for the best mexican food I'm talking about authenticity and explosion of flavors. I have lived in New York for about 6 years now, and this spot in CT is now my absolute favorite mexican spot in the northeast. From the handmade blue corn tortillas to the most delicious nopales tacos and mushroom quesadillas (even my meat eating husband agreed it was so tasty! , this place made my vegetarian dreams come true. My husband had the chicken tinga taco, cochinita pibil taco, and chorizo con papa taco, and he loved them all. As a California native, I would highly highl...

I ordered the Street Corn, which was flavorful, but I was taken aback to receive only half a corn cob for $3.50. For that price, I could have bought two full ears at Whole Foods. The menu didn’t specify that it was a half serving. Next, I tried the soft taco with Grilled Hanger Steak. While it was generously filled with meat, it arrived lukewarm and seemed a bit overcooked. Honestly, I was relieved I had only ordered one taco. On a positive note, the Signature Guacamole and chips were delicious, and we enjoyed sharing them among the three of us. I also asked for hot coffee, but was informed they don’t have a coffee machine, despite receiving many customer requests for it. Since they offer d...

I love La Taqueria. It?s a comfortable casual spot with excellent food, drink and vibe. My favorite is their crispy fish tacos with a nice refreshing margarita. The fish tacos are super simple but perfect. I like to mix it up with some of their sauces as well but they don?t need it. The fact that the tacos are nice and large is a huge plus for me. I?m a bigger guy so always have to order more than 3 at restaurants. Anyway if you like fried fish tacos this is a must try. Tell?em mike sent you. Book a table now

The food is amazing but do not waste money on any of the alcoholic drinks. Eat here and go elsewhere to drink. Update to address owner's question: the pomegranate, watermelon, and jalapeño margarita were all expensive, watery and not tasty. One ofour group ordered a glass of red wine and it was $18 with tip for not good red wine. Sorry.. we just wouldn't drink anythingthere again except maybe beer as not a single person in the group liked their drink.

In response to the owner’s inquiry: the margaritas made with pomegranate, watermelon, and jalapeño at La Taqueria were overpriced, watered down, and not enjoyable at all. One person in our group ordered a glass of red wine, which came to $18 (including tip) and was disappointing at best. Unfortunately, none of us were pleased with our drinks, so we likely won’t be ordering anything else from the menu, other than maybe a beer.

We've been longtime fans of Bar Taco and still enjoy its atmosphere, but when it comes to the best Mexican food in town, La Taqueria is hard to beat. The fish tacos are absolutely perfect. The short rib tacos burst with rich, layered flavors, and the shrimp is cooked to perfection. We've sampled nearly everything on the menu and can't pick a favorite. Simply outstanding.

We have been long-time Bar Taco fans and would still go for the atmosphere, but when we are looking for the best Mexican food around, this is hard to beat. The fish tacos are spot-on. The short rib tacos are packed with layered flavor and the shrimp isperfectly cooked. We have tried almost everything on the menu and can't decide what we like best. Simply delicious. This restaurant is amazing! I had a deep craving for comfort food, so I decided to try the short rib nachos, and they were outstanding—you could truly appreciate the effort that went into preparing them. The staff was extremely friendly and offered great suggestions for other dishes as well. I will definitely be back. Everything is made fresh.
