This small place is a gem. Our youngest so. Wanted Mexican before he headed back to college. We lived in Arizona for a long time and became accustomed to good Mexican food; we've been a bit underwhelmed by what we've had on the north shore. Enter La Taquiza. We had a burrito, which was stuffed with meat, rich, and beans. The stuffing was perfect toy distributed so that each bite provide a lovely mix of flavors. It was a handful and then some. Quite lovely. The taqueria were crisp, without being dry (harder than it appears) and the burrito bowl was packed with delicious flavors. The red and green Chile sauce was perfect. The green was spicy, but nuanced. The red was subtle, but sophisticated....
Loved loved this place when it opened.Last order to go they forgot one of the meals!Gave them a pass.Just came back after a month not going there, food was totally sub par, burrito had four very big pieces of grizzle, and it was as dry as Death Valley.The meat standard has gone way down, and portions look smaller.$56 and I left a $5 tip.Sorry they have let the standard go, it took 22 minutes from time of the order to handing the food over.Sorry to leave this review, but as I said l…. La Taquiza Winnetka offers consistently fresh and tasty food, with friendly and prompt service every time. As a realtor in the North Shore area, I frequently take clients here for lunch and dinner. Its convenient location in the same building as a laundromat and Starbucks makes it an ideal spot for me, especially since my office is nearby. The menu at La Taquiza Winnetka has something to satisfy every craving!
Finally somewhere with amazing breakfast burritos and delicious Mexican food. Being from New Mexico I have wished for someplace like this to open up for years. Would highly recommend. The customer service at this restaurant was very disappointing. When I arrived, I was the only customer there. I ordered four tacos but received order number 9. I don’t understand how orders 14, 15, and 17 were served before mine, especially when my food was left sitting on the counter for over five minutes. I won't be returning to this place.
Horrible customer service. I was the only person in the store when I ordered. I ordered 4 tacos. I was order 9 how are you serving people with order number 17 before me as my food just sits up there for well over 5 minutes. I'll happily take my business elsewhere
A fantastic new spot in Winnetka with reasonable prices, delicious food, and friendly staff. The chicken tortilla soup is so good it’s spoiled me for ordering it anywhere else—definitely the best $4 you’ll spend around here.
I just bought a beef burrito, and it didn’t taste good at all. Worst of all, one piece of meat had a large bone in it. I’m just relieved I didn’t choke or break a tooth. This was terrible!

I ordered chilaquiles with green sauce, but the tortillas were quite tough, and the meat looked more like ground meat.
The family-owned restaurant is exceptional. The shrimp tacos marinated in cilantro are incredibly tasty!
