I am biased, I have to tell you upfront, because the two instances I ate at this mediterranean port Taberna I was substantially hungry. We have arrived by boat, after sailing a couple of hours and I was eager to consume a replenishing meal. None the less, I was not alone and we all said the same ahhhh like a choir, when having the fist bite of this Catalan Paella. Not much to add except this is the Catalan variety, dark-brown with the sofrito base at the bottom of the iron dish, which can only be described as The Mother of The Paella, because at the sofrito is where the taste is built.
