Come here for the genuine french experience. Seven delicious courses of French Sunday lunch - wine included and coffee if you wish. It is a must for anyone interested in french food and long french lunches. Located in the pretty village of Grezels, la terrasse is a great insight into traditional french dining. The maison is superbly managed by le patron who greets seats and serves and attends throughout your delicious experience. Madam prepares the 6 courses beautifully. You are greeted by a well set table with genuine linen table clothes and napkins and an array of plates and cutlery that promises a great experience. The patron offers you an apperitif to start the digestive juices. A full c...

The typically unpretentious French village family restaurant; Madame in the kitchen and Monsieur in the restaurant. Alas, a disappearing breed of excellent small restaurants offering great food and a laid-back ambiance. The patron will insist that you eat up all the food that Madame has gone to all the trouble of preparing (all fresh, all local, no frozen),so go expecting to eat your fill! At €20 a head (except Sundays, where it's €30 and includes an additional fish course), including starters, main, cheese, dessert, wine and coffee, this is UNBEATABLE VALUE. The menu of the day is what you get - no choice and therefore not really suitable for vegetarians, vegans or other losers, who can alw...

It is not easy to find this restaurant, but this does not stop it being one of the most popular destinations for those I the know. Don't expect a menu, or any choice. Instead prepare for a feast of good, hearty, plentiful food. Everything is home made and looks and tastes fantastic. It is the sort of place that you read about in books and magazines: great food, good value in an authentic old fashioned dining room. Local wine is included. Fussy eaters and the unadventurous should avoid it, for the rest of us it is a rare treat. Do remember to book, casual arrivals are often turned away.

It is getting rare to find such places where, the owners work hard to bring a good meal for an excellent price in a lovely ambianceWhen I came to France, 25 years ago, there were many home from home places like this but you can consider this restaurant a dying breed nowLong may they be able to continue !The ex pats love hiding away on a wet winter Sunday for a hearty lunch, by the cosy fire
