La Toile A Beurre Et Le Gourmet

This was our thrid visit to La Toile a Beurre in almost 10 years. The first time was in November 2006, then we returned in 2010, and most recently last Friday, March 20, 2015. Each time service was prompt and more than adequate. The food was very good, and the portions generous. Prices are slightly high, but still acceptable considering the decor and quality of the food. Not sure what caused some other reviewers to complain about the service, but we had not complaints. La Toile a Beurre is definitely my go to restaurant in Ancenis.

We stopped in at this charming small restaurant for lunch whilst cycling around France and what a wonderful warm welcome we received despite being dreadfully under dressed in our cycling gear. As we had not planned for a special lunch, we selected the lowest cost option. The quality of ingredients was very high and each dish was an absolute delite. the service was excellent through out and I would love to return one day and enjoy their premium dinner. This truly was an enjoyable dining experience and amazingly good value for money.

A party of 15 cycling along he Loire we wanted to book the restaurant, however on contacting them the restaurant was supposed to be closed that night. they opened especially for us. The set menu was excellent, the wine list very good and importantly for us they ensured there were suitable starters, main course and pudding for a vegetarian (no meat or fish) in the group. We were all very impressed and had a most enjoyable evening. Thank you so much.

Little gem of a place. Decor very french, homemade jams, fresh orange juice. Warm pastries and bread available along with cereals and fresh fruit for breakfast. English spoken. Not available for evening meals accept at a weekend
