This is by far the worst experience on our whole vacation. I would never believe this crappy bar could exist in Switzerland. We ordered Aperol Spritz, only the color was ok, it was more ice and soda than anything inside. So, don't bother ordering. Also, when we were about to pay they told us it's only cash, no credit cards????????? I simply do not believe in that but I did not want to make any troubles so I had to walk ca. 1 km to find cash machines while my wife was waiting there as insurance. All in all, avoid this place, there's plenty of others.
We took friends from out of town here because La Vela is usually a fun place to visit--but they have now lost our business. To our surprise and dismay, the waitress was furious that one of our party of four, who is on a special diet, could not order from the menu. The rest of us ordered food and drinks. The waitress complained for several minutes, despite our attempts to explain. DId she want us to leave our friend on the sidewalk? We'll find another place!
I stopped by the small restaurant at lunchtime today with a large group of senior citizens. The food and the Merlot were excellent, and the service was also very competent and friendly.
A great place for a pre-dinner or after dinner drink. At the weekend you get music, nostalgic music, italian oldies etc. Reto is the perfect host. Wonderful people, wonderful place.
