I was staying at a local hotel with excellent food La Sapiniere) but the hotel restaurant shuts Sunday night sometimes. Walked down the street to Vieille Auberge. When you walk in don't be deterred by the v French regional appearance of restaurant. Food drink I had was really good v inexpensive. Great value worth a try in if you're in these parts. I have no connection with this place just a Brit who does know his food) visiting the delightful Auvergne.
I strongly advise this restaurant if you are visiting Brioude. It is good local cuisine, simple in the noble sense of the term. The plates are not plates but very well-stocked pie dishes. The reception is friendly and the price is largely reasonable.
Restaurant d après guerre , hygiene not top in the room , the buffet of the entrance with flies and full of dust, it doesn't make dream when we go to the restaurant, anyway I didn't like it,

We spent lunch this noon 29/01. It is a simple, but very good and not very expensive kitchen.We. were not many in the room, but the waitress is very active and nice. I recommend.
