After visiting the old historical General store museum around 2pm we passed by La Vieille Usine to have a pinte of beer and eat something. We were seated in about 15 minutes. Understandably shortage of servers was visible. Our server took our order very fast. Beers arrived very fast. Then we waited about 45 minutes for our soup order. Meanwhile everyone arriving after us was being served with their food orders. At one point I had to ask in French did you forget our order? She answered. no didn 't forget which clearly she had forgotten. The grilled bread that comes with the soup was stale. The soup was nice at 25.00 the meal size bowl. Excellent first day open for season today June 1. Had lunch: fish soup excellent flavor lots of fish cooked nicely. Chicken sandwich and salmon burger both excellent and served with fresh green salad lightly tossed in oil. Dessert pouding chomeur a vanilla cake with maple syrup Gaspe specialty recommend!! Nice atmosphere overlooking wharf great service
The biggest bar in the Gaspe Peninsula. Also a cultural center with a theater and live music. Art center upstairs. Great beer and good. Auval on tap on occasion.
The best fish soup I have had in a long long time!!!! The broth was beautiful and big chunks of cod and salmon. An absolute must!!!!
