The restaurant scene is Charleston is almost addicting to get into as there as so many places to try throughout the city. Later in the day, we were all pretty full so we decided to try out this restaurant as the meals seemed a bit lighter. Upon entrance, I fell in love with the layout of this place as it was under a building but still had such an open atmosphere. The menu mostly consisted of sandwiches and soup but I opted for a soup. I ordered the buffalo chicken soup and got it in the pint size. The soup itself was a bit thicker and almost felt like I was eating a dip and not a soup. The Grotto has a cozy vibe, situated beneath the main house on Cannon. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and both the soup and sandwich were excellent! Parking can be quite difficult. It's conveniently located near hospitals. As for wheelchair accessibility, it seems there isn’t an accessible entrance unless there’s another option available.
We were here today. Small restaurant. Prices are good but I had the chef salad. This salad didn't have much meat on it. I think they should consider more meat. It looked like only one slice of ham and a half of a boiled egg. It had more arugula than anything. They also didn't have honey mustard dressing.Food: 3/5
Perfect lunch spot yummy and reasonably priced. Their soups are always good my favorite is the Greek lemon chicken so I usually get a small cup of that and a small cup of a special of the day soup. The Greek salad with homemade dressing is really good.

As for wheelchair accessibility, the restaurant is located downstairs in an old house, and I did not observe any options for those who require wheelchair access, although there may be some available.
This is the best soup and sandwich place in town! I've been a regular for over four years, and it’s my go-to spot for lunch whenever I'm downtown. Food: 5/5
The soup is so so good. This establishment is a little treasure! I went on a Wednesday at 5pm the parking seems limited. However it was fine at this time.
