I reviewed Perth's Italian restaurants for this special occasion and this came up often. We opted for a early lunch on a Friday. Greeted warmly, first there, seated and offered water by a nice young lady. The menu was very good with a few dishes...that are traditionally Italian but not found many places in Perth. Opted for a shared entrée, olives, cheeses, bread, shaved meats ....perfect amount and nicely presented. on Saturday evening my father came here after a large 2-hour walk around perth with 2 feet a heatbeat (hohe ask! we were finished and were looking for a place to dinner, not booked or planned. we thought. we would like to eat an Italian and googled best place to go lalla rookh was one of the first on the list. we came and asked on a table, were recommended, the formal it area was full, but the free time area was available with the same menu. the lady who spoke to us did not seem to be interested in our use. eager to rest and eat, we sat and searched the menu, then after about 10 minutes, we tried to get a waiter attention, a few times. but no one would look at us. the barman saw us as we wer...
One night out with girls, not driving or once so wanted to enjoy a few drinks. This place was chosen, drinks came and food arrived. Had a veal chop on coleslaw $50, it was terrible, tough meat and a table spoon of ordinary coleslaw. Had...a number of drinks, same as another quest, asked if she felt in anyway tipsy, she said no. If I had had this many drinks at home I would be on the floor. Drink tasted watered down. Never will I recommend this place for food or drinks, its expensive and you are not given anything other that poor quality food and drinks.
The venue has a front bar and rear bar with a restaurant in the middle.If you want a quiet place for a meal won’t go Friday as the bar is so loud . We had no reservation but arrived early with restaurant having only about...10 or more customers. Wife order the chicken breast and I the ragatoni pasta with a leaf salad . The pasta size looked like a entree and was warm to cold. The chicken breast also looked like a entree and cold. All the food was covered in salt ,you were crunching rock salt as you eat. The prices all expensive fo what you get.

my man and I were recommended to lalla rookh and had expected a nice Italian restaurant, but it was not better than a cheaper dinghy place. no atmosphere, no loud and second guess eat. we had arancini, which was dry and no sauce at all. My husband then had calf meat that was dry again and a drop of every soak and a little snuck. totally disappointing and will certainly not return.
Have been there many times before and food wine and service has always been first class with Michael in charge Beware in the wine room Michael has left and his replacement would be one of the most rude and arrogant managers I have encountered in...the last 50 years Steer clear of what was a great spot for food and wine
no atmosphere, ridiculously overpriced meals and drinks. $500 for 4 people to have a normal meal and a few drinks is obscene. then it was too hard to divide the bill into two. do not get caught by this second guess, they find somewhere...others, have a decent meal and save them hundreds.

$21 for 3 tiny garnels was a torn pizza was good, but overall I was disappointed by our culinary experience and would not go back.
Enjoyed a really fine venison shoulder and great couple of glasses of red. Everything was well worth it and nice surroundings.
