The Landgasthof Adler in Wangen is several steps above the normal Swabian restaurant. The service is very professional and the food is outstanding. We had a delightful meal from appetizer to the coffee and Kuchen. It is a bit off the beaten track but well...worth the effort. My lamb was wonderful and the mushroom soup was terrific. For non German visitors it is a real treat and chances are excellent if you go there everyone else in the place will be local people from the surrounding area.
