we had two meals here when we were in their hotel. we ate in the normal dining room, not in the gourmet menu. the dining room is beautiful and traditional. on the first evening we had a laughter, a barsch for the main course, a...loved cheese plate and two different desserts (I had the ice cream of the wine we had ordered was a fantastic Austrian vigilant giant. the second evening the highlights were the two main courses. I have not enjoyed a full meal here, but only a coffee break after a walk in the picturesque region lueg. Wir wollten mit Freunden einen schönen Tag verbringen. Mittagessen auf der Lueg. Haben einen Tisch reserviert. Dort angekommen mussten wir den Tisch selber suchen, keine Begrüssung. Dann müssten wir lange warten, bis wir die Speisekarten erhalten haben und noch einmal, bis wir Getränke bestellen konnten. Auf das Essen warteten wir über eine Stunde. Bei mehreren Tischen sind die Gäste wieder gegangen, bevor das bestellte Essen serviert wurde. Die Gäste haben die extrem lange Wartezeit untereinander diskutiert, überall das gleiche Echo: nie wieder Lueg. Das wenige Servicepersonal war total überfordert und inkompetent im Vorgehen.
in the frame of our tournee des emmantal valey der schweiz we enjoyed the lunch in lueg. this is a very rural environment and includes a arena for swinging (swiss wrestling). because the weather was very nice, we enjoyed eating on the big dining place...deck the chance to have more local Swiss cuisine and great service was fulfilled. the menu choices were numerous and challenging for our guide, as the menu was in the local Swiss-German language. a very enjoyable culinary experience with eating and outdoors.
