On previous visits to Leymen in recent years there has generally been nothing to choose between the Ange and the Couronne d'Or. This time the Ange fell well short, sadly. We were a Sunday late afternoon / early evening booking for six. Service was below par, food was merely OK - not up to standard.Service was too slow throughout - we do actually prefer to take our time over family celebration meals as this was, but this time the delays were far too long so unacceptable - well over three hours. There were several other service mistakes: vodka & tonics were served instead of the ordered G&Ts for aperos, the one hot starter was served first (after we'd been there an hour and ten minutes) so it...
This is one of our favourite places to dine out. The restaurant has a welcoming and cosy atmosphere that has been retained over the last 9 years (that we have visited it).The Couronne D'Or is also an excellent restaurant, though to our perspective (and this is personal taste), the atmosphere of the d'Ange is more relaxed.The quality of food is very good indeed and the price is very competitive. The wine selection is also excellent for a restaurant of its size. It is ideal for family, couples, or a group celebration. There is a well maintained garden with an excellent tree-canopied terrace for summer dining.If you are a chateaubriand fan (as we are) then Thursday evening is the night to visit...
We've always gone to the other restaurants in Leymen and decided to give this restaurant a try. And it was not worth it. We had a soup of the day, which was white aspatagas soup. It's sour as if they tripled the amount of white wine by mistake. I had a duck with orange sauce and saffron rice. It was too sweet. I see they are trying to create Asian flavor, and they really taste wrong. I had a dessert plate which was only satisfying part of the meal. I has so disappointed that I came home and made French onion soup with a red wine. My husband and I agreed that our food at home was much better.Too bad, because people there were so nice... warm and friendly place, with large parking and quick access. I bought a mustard veal steack with fries. The meal was excellent, there's nothing to say. but it is a bit disorganized that can quickly lead to being destabilizing at the table when it works quickly, almost in progress. . I recommend the restaurant

We've had a great dinner enjoying the rack of lamb which was perfectly cooked. I particularly liked the mix of various vegetables one would normally not serve together. Service was very good and friendly.
Everything was perfect. From aperio to dessert with a friendly service. We'll be back soon...
