We stopped in at an early dinner hour (4:30 PM). Staff was friendly and helpful as I was using a walker. The interior is contemporary and well designed for a quiet conversation. The inaugural ceiling is relatively sound absorbing. There are regular tables, higher bar stool tables and some outdoor patio seating. The food was well prepared with considerable attention to presentation. Drinks were beautiful but looked better than they tasted. We started with a delicious appetizer of crisp fried tofu glazed with a hoisin based sauce and just enough chili burn to wake up your palate without overwhelming the flavors. For dinner I had a vegetarian stir fried jackfruit curry that was beautifully made...
Everything we ordered was completely and wonderfully delicious! The drinks, the appetizer, the entrees... wow!!! An additional bonus was our server named Trace. Pleasant, professional, engaging. Trace had an excitement for the food being served and it showed. It matched our excitement and joy as the dishes came out and our minds were blown away by the flavors that were presented. Generous portions as well. Lat 14, get ready! We will be back!Parking: Just needed to be patient.
The food at Lat14 is solidly “good,” but not excellent only because I’ve had other experiences that have been more unique. Still, the Asian-fusion cuisine is worth exploring. The drinks, for some, might have “too much” going on, and some might think “less is more.” Still, all was good with excellent service and a professional atmosphere.Vegetarian options: A few items can be prepared vegetarian or vegan (without fish sauce)
The service and food were great. On the pricy side which was okay as we really had a good time. The one real down side was that the restaurant charges a 5% health and wellness charge to the meal. We didn’t feel that we should be paying for the restaurants health benefits. So we only tipped 15%. If the restaurant wants to provide healthcare they should just pay for it and increase prices.
