What used to be a great restaurant with local food at a very fair price, has now under the new owner chef turned into an overpriced restaurant which was completely empty on a Saturday afternoon We visited with 4 adults and 2 kids. Positives is that they have a kids corner with some toys. We ordered 2 mains from daily menu, a vegetable soup and omelette. Kids received at our request a non meat kids meal which was smoked salmon and one fried potato. 3 beers and 1 red wine. Total price 122 euro, which if the quality had been outstanding would have been ok but given that meat was sub standard (I would turn it into ragout myself not serve as steak). On booking we were not told that the chef was off that evening, They had one person on duty who definitely could not cook. The children ordered a burger from the kids menu and my daughter a burger from the adults menu. They came we’re all identical all were overlooked and rock hard and all with no garnish . We asked the waiter/cook that the adult burger was the same as the kiddies version, he said that how it comes, We protested otherwise as the adult burger was double the price. Popped in for a quick lunch with our greyhound. Very welcoming and delighted out greyhound could join us inside the very smart and well decorated restaurant, The food, although good and freshly cooked, was not exceptional. We did though opt for the plat du jour and we have every confidence that had we gone a la carte the experience would have been better. I had the sausage main and my husband the pork which in his words had a few too many sharp bones and was not as tender as it could have been , This alone would certainly though not stop us from returning as the service was so very good. Stopped off for a family lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Very pretty little place with the L’Aa river (more of a stream) running alongside it. True it wasn’t busy and we chose to sit indoors as we had some young kids with us although there is a lovely seating area outside. Waitress and myself conversed in a little English and a bit of French but we got by. Our party had cheese, vegetable and mixed platters which were all beautifully presented.
