L'auberge de Margot

There are two features to this restaurant. The location, and the food. The location is half way up a puy the town of Usson is built on a volcanic cinder cone which gives it a fantastic view across the local hills to the mountains which are actually all (fortunately extinct) volcanoes. In good weather you can sit out on the terrace, in less clement weather the main dining room still features windows with the same stunning view. Best treat of all is to choose a day when it looks like it 's going to be a good sunset there 's no better way to enjoy a stunning sunset than with a glass of kir on the Margot 's terrace with a few friends. Nous avons bien mangé, l'établissement est joliment situé.Le seul bémol vient de la petite serveuse qui a essayé de nous coller d'office le menu du jour, qui ne nous intéressait pas. Elle n'avait même pas ramené la carte.J'ai été obligé de lui demander d'aller chercher une carte.Nous avons pourtant vu l'autre serveuse (à lunettes) et la patronne qui présentaient aux tables le menu du jour et donnaient aux clients la carte d'office.C'est dommage, car nous avons bien mangé et nous sommes même prêts à y retourner, mais ce genre de comportement jette toujours un léger froid et on ne profite pas pleinement de son repas.

Déjeuner chez la Reine Margot, c'est se sentir un peu roi et reine, surtout que les plats étaient excellents, emplacement-terrasse avec vue sur toute la vallée.Service et cuisine à féliciter.

The steak and home made fries were delicious. The starter was creative and very special. Friendly staff. Unbelievable views. Try to book a table at the window...

Wonderful location, ambience, menu and service! Food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. A must-do when visiting Usson or the region.
