Madame, the owner, provides a professional, no-nonsense service at this interesting, memorable restaurant in an otherwise forgettable town. Food is good, the Boeuf Bourguinon from the day menu (written on tall black boards) was excellent. The steak ‘Marchand-de-Vin’ was a mediocre piece of Entrecote, the red wine marinated shallots were nice. The Frites are excellent, I think they are even fresh, not previously frozen which would be great, in today’s restaurant environment with the majority of the food being from a can or bag a rarity. Very good, albeit too salty were the pan-fried potatoes. Many people were eating big salads with tartines, they seem to be a restaurant speciality. This is a...
