we live here for a part of the year, so we think we have a good feeling for the general standard of restaurants. we have fanned a dosis filets of the perches, the local delicacies. instead of going to one of our best restaurants, we thought we would try. the website menu offered filets des perches with four different sauces, so all looked good. the menu outside the restaurant showed the same. when we arrived there, the menu had closed the fish section in the biro and, if asked, the waiter did not know and it was not just for this night. two of the selected goat cheese salad instead and it was ok. the cheese was too soft and the salat element had no fantasy. the third in our party had a burge...
the rue des italiens recently worked at its occurrence bij placement nice outside eating teraces on the trails on both sides ot the road. that gives the road a very lively and welcoming feeling in warm nights. in the midst of these terraces is the savoyard Betandi...restaurant which is decorated as if they are in an old farmhouse in the alps. the menu shows classic safyard dishes like fondue and raclette. in addition, some meat and fish dishes and an extensive list of pizzas. our fondue was delicious, service was very fast and friendly. the price was right. very advisable.
They have an interesting choice of menus and a la carte. I like their fish and scallops, the sauce is always very tasty. They have a very good choice of vegetables (old vegetables as well such as parsnip). Their wines are wonderful and the desserts...too. The dining room is pleasantly decorated and there is also a small salon with two tables for more privacy. Any time I go to Thonon Les Bains I go to this restaurant.
we came here and the male owner seemed very off with us. eating was a crazy price for what we were given and was not all that good. He was very involuntary to help us and wanted to serve other people who were running in...HIS language. next time I'm here. many other places to eat. sad that I was wasting my money!
