My wife and I ate at the restaurant in August and had a dreadful experience. It was a rare night out for us, as with two young kids, we seldom get the opportunity for a ‘date night’. But the evening was spoiled by the rude and aggressive ‘service’ we recover from the main waiter. He was practically shouting and very brusque. At one point he bellowed at a table across from us such that he basically shouted full volume in my ear which was extremely uncomfortable. We couldn’t wait to leave and ordered the bill early, which he proceeded to slam down on the table and shout something else. After some assistance we realised he meant pay inside. This is a friendly, local bistro in a small village in the Drome region, a 30 minute drive from Vaison La Romaine. Be careful; there are three restaurants occupying the market square so be sure to sit at the correct table. There’s plenty of free village parking nearby. The outside tables are all well shaded by plane trees and the village is quiet and well maintained. The bistro doesn’t offer the normal fixed price menu but the prices were reasonable and fair, for the quality. The dishes were home cooked and well prepared. Very tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. Recommended.
I would like to write a good review but I can 't because of their prime rib SPECIAL . The pros: The service was good, dinner was decent/good, nothing exceptional though beside the desert. The cons: Their prime rib special is a tourist trap. It was actually more expensive than a prime rib in New York City, where we live, no detail on the weight, no receipt, just prime price about $230 !! I emailed the day after to ask more detail as they didn 't give me any receipt and (my fault) I didn 't ask for it, but no answer...Not very professional ! I won 't come back.
Sur la place du village, sous les arbres, les lampions créent une ambiance ginguette . Mais pas n’importe quelle guinguette : dans le bistrot de Villedieu, bistrot rime avec bistronomique avec un chef vraiment talentueux. On prend conscience de que veut dire le verbe cuisiner . Franchement c’est formidable. Le service est... parfait. On pourrait penser qu’avec toutes ces tables à servir, ce sera long, il y aura des erreurs... et bien non, c’est tout le contraire. Rythmé et stylé le service est au top. Mon coup de cœur de l’été.

As loyal fans of la Maison Bleue, we wanted to give the new team and concept a fair chance, but is was quite a disappointment over-all: decent food, yes, but not wow and certainly overpriced. Staff polite, but in a professional 'forced ' way, so no warmth at all. Corona masks worn undee the nose or around the neck, btw. A missed opportunity for this unique and magic little square. We already miss Daniel, Natasha and the Maison Bleue team and their great pizzas...
To sit under four huge plane trees in a charming square is already 'Good News ' but the fleurs courgettes made my lunch exceptional. They were the best I have ever eaten. The pork stew was all right though rather too much gristle and the gravy was delicious. Charming and attentive ladies came dashing to attend to my every need. I can 't wait to return.
On a passer un moment génial comme toujours un repas exquis , le personnel au plus gentils tous a fait à répéter . On reviendra avec plaisir , notre serveur Hervé nous a mis l’eau à la bouche avec ses recommandations des plats mais dans ce restaurant tous le personelle est au top , bravo chef d’avoir choisi une équipe de choc pareil
Un merveilleux moment provençal, sur la place du village, parasol de platanes… Et là, une découverte gustative inoubliable !
