After looking forward to a nice meal with friends, we felt let down by the service. The menu was not explained and we had to wait for our aperitif so long it arrived with the starters. We were not handed the menu of the day and were confused by the menu. The water did not arrive and other people were served before us and had there food before our aperitif arrived. The food was delicious but we had to wait for our sides that we ordered to compliment our entrées. unfortunately we were very let down and did not feel welcomed at all by the staff. It is not just about the food so be very careful to give an all round experience.
We've been coming here for 6 years and considered it a favorite. But we've notice a change in the quality of food and an overall decline lately. Tonight the was no mise en bouche, no nuts with our aperitif and the Badoit we ordered never came. The meal was so so and the peach Melba used canned peaches, while the local orchards are sweet and juicy this time of year. We are locals and hope that things will change for the better.
Great ambiance and food! Two areas to dine, at the bistro, the menu options are more limited, however prices are very reasonable. The other section (back of the bar) is finer dining and offers wine tasting throughout the course of your meal. We dined at the bistro and enjoyed a number of dishes. Pix attached shojld give you a glimpse of the interior and delightful dish options. Save some room for the desserts!
We arrived in the area on Monday evening and were told to try the bistro because it was always open. Fair enough we had a decent meal which was a bit pricey. But why would you take a beautiful ancient chateau and paint it purple, Barbie pink and lime green ON THE OUTSIDE. Sacre bleu! Real shame. And inside is not much better. All floodlit at night in purple and pink.
