"The owner just loves to cook and all the beef is from his family's farm. Huge portions, a bit pricey and the entrecote is the best value, fab french fries. A well balanced wine list, wines reasonably priced. Well worth a visit."

This small restaurant in the hilltop Village of Brignemont is very different inside and worth a visit especially for his beef. Other items are on the menu if beef is not your taste. It is run by Daniel who is cow mad. His beef comes from his own cows and he knows each piece of meat. He also knows the English version of Rare, Medium and well done....in addition to the French version! He will talk about the meat you are eating and the cow if that interest you. (His English is limited but he is happy to try). His only concern prior to serving the meat is how it is slaughtered and he tries to ensure his cow is not stressed when it now goes to an official EU local abattoir. His chips are deliciou...

If you are in the area, you must try Le Boeuf d'Antan. Chef/owner Daniel is a master at raising and cooking beef. He is an interesting fellow as well, having lived in New Orleans and South Carolina in the USA. Daniel organically raises beef on his farm and both sells it direct or prepares it for his guests at Le Boeuf d'Antan over the open fire of his fireplace. We had filet de boeuf and it was done to perfection and incredibly tender with a slight smoky flavor--very reasonably priced as well. A "must do" if you are in the area.

This is the only restaurant in the small village of Brignemont, off the beaten track but well worth the diversion for travelers visiting the Haut Garonne. The owner/chef prepares his steaks over the coals in the open hearth of the small dining room and really good they were too. Excellent and friendly service even for English-speaking guests! He very apologetically asked us to leave at 5pm - lunch started at 12 - as he had to attend to his farm! Good wine selection. Well worth the visit.

Le Boeuf d'Antan is a fun place to eat for the committed carnivore! The meat is cooked on an open grate when ordered. The accompaniments are hearty and you will certainly not go away hungry! I like my food and I couldn’t finish the amazing entrecôte I ordered!! The prices are very reasonable, and the host is hearty and friendly. A great place to eat!
